Trade: Carpenter

Hi my name is Julia, I'm 29 years old and I'm a carpenter from Canada. I've been a carpenter for 5 years now but I've practically been doing wood work my whole life. I grew up in Polish scouts where I learned a lot of different woodworking techniques. We would always have to be resourceful and build things and that's definitely where my love for this trade started.

I was so happy to get involved with eve workwear because finally I have work clothing I can comfortably wear! You can tell this brand is designed by and for women in trades. As far as facing challenges as a woman in the trades, I've definitely had a few. One that never gets spoken about is bathrooms. The amount of times I've been sent to a job site and there hasn't been any bathroom facilities is pretty funny. Also, multiple times I've been interrupted at work by strangers or new workers asking if I know how to use all my tools. At the end of the day, it's all worth it because I love what I do and nothing makes me more happy than the appreciation I get from my clients.
